Know eleven foods that destroy your intelligence

Many of the things that we eat every day without knowing it, in the short or in the long run, can be harmful to our health. Sweets, alcohol, refined flours, sweeteners, etc. they are present in the diet of the majority of the population. 1. Sweet products:

Sugar and sweet products are not only bad for your waistline, but for brain function. Long-term consumption of sugar can create a host of neurological problems and affect memory, reducing the ability to learn. Avoid pre-cooked products, sugar, corn syrup, and foods high in fructose.

2. Alcohol:

Fortunately, these symptoms are reversible as long as you stop drinking alcohol or at least reduce it to one or two doses a week.

3. Junk food:

6. Very salty foods:

We all know that salty foods affect blood pressure and heart health, but what you did not know is that they can affect cognitive function and impair your ability to think. In other words, salty foods affect your intelligence! Consuming salty foods and nicotine have been shown to have the same effects as drugs, causing severe withdrawal symptoms and cravings.

7. Refined cereals:

All kinds of refined grains have an impact on the functioning of the brain and health in general, not like whole grains, rich in fiber and that prevent arterial aging. If you consume refined grains, your body runs the risk of aging faster and experiencing memory loss and mental confusion. Try switching from refined carbohydrates to complex carbohydrates.

8. Processed proteins:

Proteins are the building blocks of muscles and are very important for the proper functioning of your body. But avoid overly processed protein like hot dogs, salami, and more. Opt for plant proteins like legumes.


9. Avoid trans fats at all costs:

Trans fats not only cause heart problems and obesity, but are also bad for your brain, slowing you down, affecting your reflexes and your quality of response - apart from the risk of stroke. If consumed for a long time, they can contract the brain, something similar to the contraction caused by Alzheimer's disease. This reduction in brain volume occurs because trans fats damage the arteries.

10. Artificial sweeteners:

It's true that artificial sweeteners contain fewer calories than sugar, but they do more harm than good. If used for a long time, they can cause brain damage and interfere with your cognitive ability, especially if you use large amounts on a daily basis.

11. Nicotine:

While nicotine is not really a food product, it damages the brain by restricting the flow of blood to this important organ, along with the regular flow of glucose and oxygen. Nicotine also affects the production and function of neurotransmitters by squeezing capillaries, the tiny blood vessels that play a critical role when it comes to brain function.
