Entre Ríos, October 1, 2018
From the Coordinator for a Life without Pesticides in Entre Ríos, Enough is enough! We celebrate the recent ruling of the Entre Ríos justice, making room for the protection of the rural schools of the province, which represents an advance for the lives of children and the educational community of Entre Ríos in general.
We highlight the outstanding parts:
- Fumigations with pesticides less than 3000 meters from the air and 1000 meters from the ground from the schools are prohibited throughout the territory of the province and at all times.
- Suspend all fumigations at any distance during class hours
- Orders the state of Entre Ríos to carry out studies to analyze the state of affairs
- It condemns the state of Entre Ríos to implement tree barriers 150 meters around all rural schools in two years.
We congratulate our fellow attorneys, who prepared and presented this amparo, to our colleagues from the Stop Fumigating Schools Campaign who have persisted in the fight for the life and health of their students and the educational community.
Based on this resolution, we also urge the Entrepreneur Legislative Power to declare the Sanitary and Environmental Emergency in our province as well as to advance in the real promotion of Agroecology to advance in a positive change of the provincial productive matrix, as we have been requesting since November of 2017 in our basal request.
Mobilization has proven to be the way to make visible, strengthen and achieve progress. We are leading this struggle collectively, we encourage and encourage each other to continue strengthening ourselves in all places, to achieve a life without pesticides and with food sovereignty.
Enough is Enough!
